Brit Diersch (she/they), founder
Brit is a dedicated community builder with a passion for fostering inclusivity and connection. Originally from the south shore on the outskirts of Boston, MA, Brit has intermittently called Big Sky, MT home since 2019. In the time spent in town, they have observed the growth of the queer community but noticed a lack of outlets for meaningful connections. Struggling to find the queer community they desired, they took the initiative to curate a space where everyone could feel safe and welcomed. Outside of her community-building endeavors, Brit enjoys a diverse range of interests. From skiing and snowboarding to creating art, listening to music, and immersing herself in nature, she finds balance and inspiration in various forms.

Grey Shamburger (They/THEM)
Aries (They/Them)
Grey grew up in the Appalachian mountains, cultivating a love of nature, fantasy, and folks who are just a bit different. One day, those mountains started feeling too small, so Grey turned West. Lone Peak called, and Grey answered. Lone Peak didn’t know what it was getting itself into. Neither did Grey, but it worked out. Grey didn’t expect to find such a diverse and supportive community in such a small place, but they were more than happy to join in on the fun. Grey hopes to help this queer community blossom into something really special, a place where people can truly be themselves. Wouldn’t that be fun? There’s a lot of potential here in this community, lots of folks who are just a bit different, and lots of fun to be had together. What’s the point of life if you’re not enjoying it, right?
Community care has always been the heart of everything Aries does. With a background in Case Management and Massage Therapy, they’ve compassionately supported people through both emotional and physical healing. Now as Volunteer Coordinator for Big Sky Out, they’re bringing that same heart to building a thriving, connected community. Aries discovered their identity through the vibrant, supportive queer community in Salt Lake City and that experience is what they hope to bring to Big Sky.
They believe that volunteering isn’t just about showing up—it’s about belonging. Whether it’s welcoming new folks, organizing events, or just making sure everyone feels seen and appreciated, Aries is all about creating spaces where people can show up as their full selves.
Bailey Simone (They/Them)
Growing up in a small town in Iowa, I’ve gained a unique perspective on the importance of self discovery, uplifting community, advocacy, and inclusion, as that was absent within the areas that surrounded me. This perspective encourages me to be a voice for others here in Montana and to live more authentically as my true self. I like to express myself by singing, writing music, or crafting. I love learning new trades and pursuing hobbies like building, winter or summer sports, crocheting, and mostly, I enjoy being outside by the river with my dog. I’m so excited to be a part of Big Sky OUT and I'm so happy to create encouraging communities together!
